There are metered parking spots directly in front of the shop, as well as a 45-space metered lot right over on Washington Street (it’s very close, viewable from Plum’s windows). Both options are just 25¢ an hour until 5pm and free after that.
We accept Cash, Debit Cards and Credit Cards (American Express, Discover, Master Card, and Visa). Sorry, but we do not accept personal checks or those tickets you win at Skee Ball. PayPal is accepted for online payments only.
Due to the one-of-a-kind nature of consignment and our inability to effect the space-time continuum, our online shop and retail store inventory are different.
Items purchased in store and via social media are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Items purchased online can be returned within 7 days and must be returned in re-saleabe condition with the original price tags still attached. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have an item that you would like to return.
Due to the increased demand of items that we post on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, we are unable to place holds on any of these items. However, you’re more than welcome to call the shop at 978-969-2761 to pay for the item with a credit card or store credit, and pick it up at your convenience or have it shipped to you.
We have daily consignment appointments, plus Walk-In Wednesdays, so we are always busy refilling the racks with new items.
There are two options for consigning items at Plum: 1) On Walk-In Wednesdays, as the name suggests, no appointment is needed. So if you have 20 or fewer items that you’d like to consign, feel free to drop into Plum on a Wednesday, anytime between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm. We do ask that you remain in the store while we take a few minutes to go through your items. At this time, we do not allow drop offs of items that you'd like to consign. 2) If you have more than 20 items that you’d like to consign, or you just hate Wednesdays, please schedule an appointment online.
Yes, all consignors will be required to sign a simple 1-page contract for any items that are left for consignment. There’s no crazy Christian Grey stuff in there, don’t worry.
Plum Consignment accepts (in season*) very gently used or new with tags women’s clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbags and accessories. (Sorry, men, but as of May 2014, we are no longer accepting men’s clothing on consignment). We cannot accept items with stains, holes, broken zippers, or pilling, nor items that appear to have committed a fashion faux pas. Please check over your items carefully before bringing them in for consignment, as any item found to be damaged after initial intake will be discounted or donated without further notice, as stated in our contract. We do not accept wedding, prom, formal, semi-formal or Mother of the Bride dresses, fugly stuff, bathing suits (unless new with tags), undergarments, bathrobes, pajamas, suits, hats, socks, athletic wear (with the exception of lululemon, Athleta and similar type brands in excellent condition) Shoes must be in “like-new” condition with no scuff marks or overly worn soles/heels. Although items can be older than last season, please keep in mind current styles and trends when deciding what to bring in for consignment. We believe style is style, so name brands are not a requirement, but here are some preferred brands which have a good track record at Plum: J Crew, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Loft, Gap, H&M, American Eagle, Aerie, Express, White House/Black Market, Hollister, Old Navy, Forever 21, Zara, Anthropologie, Free People, Madewell, Target Brands, Theory, Ella Moss, BCBG, Nordstrom brands, French Connection, Kimchi Blue, Top Shop, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Vineyard Vines, Coach, Dooney & Bourke We have historically accepted fewer items from these brands: J Jill, Chico’s, Talbots, Brooks Brothers, Dress Barn, Levis, Cache, Coldwater Creek, LL Bean, Appleseeds, Liz Claiborne, Ann Klein, Eileen Fisher, Tommy Hilfiger, Sonoma, Croft & Barrow, Eddie Bauer We do not accept any knock-off designer items. If you have an authentic designer item that you’d like to consign, please bring along any original tags, protective bags and receipts if you have them available. You will be required to fill out an Authenticity Confirmation for any designer items left for consignment. *New England weather can be crazy, but we typically take Spring items from February – May, Summer items from May – August, Fall items from August – October, and Winter items from October – February. There is no limit*, besides that of your personal strength and can-do attitude, to the number of clothing, shoes, jewelry, handbags or accessories that you can bring in for a scheduled consignment appointment. *except on Walk-In Wednesdays, when you’re limited to 20 items per person
No, you do not need to iron or steam your items before you bring them in. Please bring your items neatly folded in bags, plastic tubs or boxes, rather than on hangers, as it makes our check in process much easier and allows you to have a shorter appointment.

All items will be reviewed before accepting on consignment. After ensuring they’re clean, dry, odorless, pet hair free, and in ready-to-wear condition, we’ll assess their overall appeal and sellability. Plum Consignment reserves the right to refuse any item.
Plum Consignment will determine pricing for items based on design, quality and retail value, and reserves the right to adjust the price of any merchandise. Items may be marked down at the discretion of Plum Consignment for sales, events, etc.
The consignment period is 60 days. If a consigned item sells within 60 days, the consignor receives 40% of the selling price in the form of store credit or a check.
Yes, you have 7 days from the end of your 60-day consignment period to reclaim your items. Once the 7 days have passed, you are no longer eligible to reclaim any merchandise. If you elect to reclaim any of your unsold items, please respond to the “reminder” email you receive on the last day of your consignment period to have your items gathered and to arrange for a pick up date.
Consignors may use their earnings as store credit as soon as an item sells, and will receive a 10% discount (on full-priced items) when they do so. Alternatively, they can wait until the end of the 60-day consignment period to pick up a check at the shop. Checks will not be issued automatically. It is up to the consignor to request a check by calling, emailing or requesting it in person. There will be a $2 processing and mailing fee deducted from your account if you request that the check be mailed.
Yes, you can see what has sold and how much money is your account by logging into our consignor login and entering your EMAIL and PASSWORD. Please note that if this is your first time visiting the consignor login, use your EMAIL ADDRESS as both your LOGIN and PASSWORD and then you’ll be prompted to change it if you’d like to do so. You can also download the consignor login app. You’ll need to enter plumconsignment as the DOMAIN and SUB-DOMAIN and then enter your email address as both the LOGIN and PASSWORD. Trust us, it sounds much more complicated than it is.
